FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 19, 2021
“On behalf of the Board of Directors, we are excited to officially announce the launch of State Business Executives” declared President and CEO Jeff Wasden. “State Business Executives brings together some of the nation’s premier executives from multiple sectors to foster, cultivate, and sustain an optimal business climate, drive business prosperity, and advance a strong national economy.”
State Business Executives (SBE) will be a driving force that convenes, unites, and empowers the business community to make our nation a global leader in industry, innovation, economic competitiveness, and sustainable business practices.
“Leveraging the strength of business led organizations from multiple states and sectors will provide a unique perspective and impact at the national level as we address many of the most critical issues our country faces now and in the future. Now more than ever, innovative ideas from the states that foster sound public policy and competitiveness need to be advanced in our nation’s capital. I am excited to serve on the Board of State Business Executives,” said Justin Yancy, President of the Texas Business Leadership Council.
“Some of the goals for SBE include providing leadership on critical issues impacting our business climate, economic growth, and opportunities; leveraging our collective strengths, our diversity, leadership, reach, and influence to drive pro-business policy and amplify our collective voice,” states Wasden. “State leadership across diverse state chambers, technology, healthcare, manufacturing, business and academic leaders is needed more than ever to address issues such as education; workforce; immigration; diversity, equity, and inclusion; and sustainability.”
“As President of the most powerful Hispanic Chamber in Nevada, my passion is making sure my members voices are heard,” states Peter Guzman, President of the Latin Chamber of Commerce for Nevada. “This association furthers the ability to do that!”
“The PA Chamber looks forward to working with the incredible professionals in this group to advance the public policy areas that are critical to the future prosperity of the nation,” said Gene Barr, President and CEO of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry.
State Business Executives will focus on convening leaders to advance policy work around key identified pillars; advocating for pro-business policies; building effective coalitions and partnerships; communicating policy positions, strategic initiatives, and recommendations; as well as partnering with and supporting the work of several existing organizations.
“While each organization and industry group often have a different take on an issue and are often impacted differently, there is a commonality in the mission and the need to speak with a unified voice. This is the starting point and purpose of the State Business Executives—discovering and understanding the facts of an issue, identifying the right leaders to seek redress, harnessing the strength, and uniting the voice of the state business community into a seamless entity,” said Bob Ward, President and CEO of the Florida Council of 100.
